Our Team

Mission Math is a Student-Run Nonprofit Organization. Our team consists of local High School students who love competition math and want to share their knowledge and their passion with younger students, while also giving back to their community. This is our team for the 2023/2024 School Year.

Chloe Parke, President

Chloe Parke, President

Chloe is a senior at West High School. She developed an interest in math during elementary school under her teacher Mr. Nickerson. She has competed in a variety of math competitions including Mathcounts, AMC8, AMC10, AMC12, AIME, HMMT, ARML, SMT, Math Kangaroo, etc. She even participated in several Mission Math camps and competitions. After learning so much at these events, Chloe joined Mission Math Utah to give back to the community that has helped her. Outside of math, Chloe loves jigsaw puzzles, crew, and mock trial.

Marla Tumenjargal, CEO

Marla Tumenjargal, CEO

Marla is a junior at Hillcrest High School. She loves to tutor and create awareness surrounding competition math. She has taken the AMC’s, Math Kangaroo, and RMCL. In addition to her passion for math, she is a key teacher at Math circle and Math club. Otherwise, debate, watching movies, and hanging out with friends are other hobbies she enjoys.

Natasha Smith, CIO, Vice President of Math Circle

Natasha Smith, CIO, Vice President of Math Circle

Natasha is a junior at Skyline High School. She has participated in many math competitions including AMC8, AMC10, Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiad, and MathCounts. She has made the state AMC8 honor roll several times and qualified for the state MathCounts competition. She also takes part in school math clubs. Aside from math, she enjoys playing the violin, solving Rubik’s Cubes, and cuddling with her dog.

Mingchuan Cheng, CTO

Mingchuan Cheng is an 11th grader attending West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has competed in math competitions, such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC8, AMC10, ARML, and Purple Comet. Mingchuan qualified for the AIME in the 2021 fall AMC10s and has achieved honor roll in AMC8. He qualified for MATHCOUNTS nationals twice in Utah in 2020 and 2021, being part of the 4th place MATHCOUNTS National team. Besides doing math, he enjoys swimming, chess, listening to music, and playing video games.

Sahil Shah, Vice President of Partnerships

Sahil Shah is currently a junior at The Waterford School in Sandy. Sahil has competed in competitions such as Mathcounts, AMC 8/10, MathMatters, and NSF where he has been on the honor roll on AMC 8 and has placed 1st in NSF. Sahil’s other passions are tennis, pickleball, ping-pong, and behavioral science. Sahil competes in state and regional tournaments for tennis while playing pickleball and ping-pong recreationally. Sahil has won 1st place in the University of Utah Science and Engineering Fair and is a 2x qualifier for Broadcom MASTERS in which he was honored as one of the Top 300 Masters. In his free time, he enjoys playing with his dog, playing pickleball and FIFA with friends, and watching shows on Netflix.

David Zhang, Vice President of Summer Camp and Curriculum Development

David is currently a junior at West High School. He has competed in many competitions, such as MathCounts, AMC 8/10, AIME, USMC, ARML, Purple Comet, and Math Kangaroo. He qualified for MathCounts Nationals in 2021, as a part of the 4th place National team. He placed first in state for the last two years in his division of Math Kangaroo, as well as placing first and third nationally. He qualified for AIME in 2021 on the AMC 10 A and B, and competed in ARML Local, ARML, and Purple Comet. Besides competition math, David enjoys tennis, piano, hiking with friends, and playing video games with his little brother.

Jacklyn Wei is a junior at Hillcrest High School. She has participated in many math competitions like MathCounts, AMC, State Math Contest, and Math Kangaroo. She has placed top 10 in Math Kangaroo and State Math Contest multiple times. Apart from math, Jacklyn enjoys drawing, watching shows, playing tennis, and playing video games. 

Wilson St. Martin, Vice President of Tutoring

Wilson is a sophomore at Hillcrest High School. He competed in Mathcounts, reaching state twice and nationals this last year in 2022. Additionally, he competed in the AMC 8, getting the honor roll and also going to represent Utah in the ARML contest. Aside from competition mathematics, he also is planning to join FIRST robotics competitions and debate. He enjoys all of these activities and others such as rock climbing, music, other STEM activities, and playing video games.

Juntian is currently a sophomore at Skyline High School.He has competed in Mathcounts, getting 2nd in Utah in 2022 and making it to the national competition. He has also participated in the AMC, AIME, ARML, Purple Comet, and SMT. Aside from competition math, Juntian enjoys playing basketball, swimming, programming, playing piano, and playing video games.

Vishwa Murugappan, Vice President of Applied Mathematics Camp/Director of STEM Diversity

Vishwa is a Senior at Hillcrest High School. He has participated in math competitions such as the AMC 8, AMC 10, Math Kangaroo, the MathWorks Math Modelling Challenge, and even past Mission Math events. By applying math techniques to biomedical problems, he placed 3rd at the 2023 Utah Science and Engineering Fair. Vishwa joined Mission Math Utah to help support the math community that he grew up with. In his free time, Vishwa likes to play with his dog and watch late-night talk shows.

Saathvik Pai

Saathvik Pai

Saathvik Pai is a junior at West High School. He has developed an interest in competition math and math in general since elementary school and hopes to pass on the interest to others and make a contribution in the math community as a part of Mission Math. He got third in the State Math competition and went to the State MathCounts, and hopes to pursue competition math further in high school. He also competed in Mandelbrot, Math League, AMC 8, and AMC 10. Apart from math, Saathvik enjoys policy debate, HOSA, science fair, science research, tennis, running, music, robotics, computer programming, and other STEM activities.

Shayan Pandit

Shayan Pandit

Shayan is a senior at the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. He has been passionate about math since elementary school. He has participated in many competitions such as AMC, Math Kangaroo, Mathcounts, and the Utah State Math competition. He has qualified for State Mathcounts twice and achieved 15th and 16th place at Math Kangaroo Nationals He has also competed in Mission Math competitions for years. After benefiting so much from his experiences with Mission Math, he loves to give back to the community. Outside of math, Shayan also competes in the National Geographic Bee, in which he has achieved 2nd place in the State. Shayan also plays violin for his school Chamber Orchestra and plays tennis.

Chinmay Goutham

Chinmay Goutham

Chinmay is currently a junior at West High School. He has participated in math competitions
such as AMC8, Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiad, and the State Math Contest. In fifth and sixth
grade, Chinmay was placed in the Math Olympiad honor roll. His favorite concepts of math are
probability and trigonometry. Apart from math, Chinmay also enjoys chess. In chess, Chinmay
has won many state and national level trophies. He is a trained singer in Hindustani (Indian)
classical music, and likes playing soccer, reading, and playing the guitar.

Rishi Patcha

Rishi is a sophomore at AMES high school. He has competed in AMC 8, which he has made honor roll twice, mathcounts, which he was on the second place team in state, and snow college math contest.

Olivia Jiang

Olivia Jiang

Olivia is a freshman at West High School. She has been interested in math from a young age and has competed in many math competitions like the AMC’s, MathCounts, ARML, SMT, Math Kangaroo, and the State Math Contest. She has placed nationally in the Math Kangaroo and has placed in the top 5 in the State Math Contest. Outside of math, Olivia also enjoys playing tennis, chess, piano, art and playing video games.

Ryan Li

Ryan Li is a sophomore at Skyline High School. He has competed in a wide selection of math competitions such as the AMC 8 and 10, Mathleague, Mathcounts, and ARML. Ryan qualified for Mathleague Nationals and placed in state a few times. He has made honor roll on the AMC 8 multiple times. Disregarding math, some activities that he enjoys are all different types of racket sports, playing chess, violin, playing games, and trying out different activities.

Kevin Ying

Kevin Ying

Kevin Ying is a freshman at Skyline High School. He has competed in many math competitions such as the AMC 8 and 10, Mathcounts, ARML, the SMT, and the Purple Comet. He qualified for Mathcounts Nationals in 2023 as well as getting 8th in the state in 2022. He has made honor roll on the AMC 8 several times and he made the honor roll on the Stanford Math Tournament (SMT) in 2023. Aside from math Kevin enjoys playing tennis and participating in debate.

Brian Wei

Brian Wei

Brian is a junior at Hillcrest High School. He has always loved math and has competed in many math competitions. He is a national Mathcounts qualifier and placed top 3 nationally in Math Kangaroo. Aside from math, Brian enjoys tennis, coding, and video games.

Ian Kim

 Ian is a freshman at West High School. He has competed in various math competitions, such as, the AMC Series, Mathcounts, ARML, Math Kangaroo, SMT, and the State Math Contest. He was on the 2nd place team at Mathcounts State in 2023, has placed top 10 in the State Math Contest in 2023. Additionally, he has achieved honor roll in the AMC 8, as well as honorable mention in the Stanford Math Tournament (SMT) in 2023. Apart from math, Ian enjoys writing, debate, music, and all kinds of sports.

Agatha Hunnicutt

Agatha Hunnicutt

Agatha is a freshman at West High School and has participated in math competitions since 5th grade. She has placed 1st in District Mathcounts and been on her school Mathcounts team 3 years in a row, becoming the 2nd place State team in 2023. She was on the AMC 8 National Honor Roll twice and scored in the top 1% on the Utah State Math Competition junior exam. Besides math, Agatha loves crocheting, watching TV shows, and spending time with friends.

Sreeram is currently a freshman at Skyline High School. He started competing in math competitions in seventh grade and has competed in competitions like Mathcounts, making the state competition twice, and the AMC’s. Apart from math, He enjoys playing tennis and playing video games.

Kaya is a freshman at Rowland Hall in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has participated in competitions since 3rd grade including Mathcounts, AMC 8 and AMC 10. In addition, he has entered several competitions that were run by Mission Math Utah. Alongside math, some of his hobbies consist of tennis, video games, and chess.

Lavanya Mohnani

Lavanya Mohnani

An avid STEM enthusiast since she was in elementary school, Lavanya is a freshman at Hillcrest High School. She’s participated and excelled in competitions such as the AMC8 and Math Kangaroo. Awarded first-place category winner at the University of Utah Science and Engineering Fair (USEF) and a Broadcom/Thermofisher entrant for two consecutive years, she’s invested in everything science-related. She also enjoys tennis, chess, and reading. Lavanya aims to share her love of math and STEM with the community!

Andy Zhou

Andy is a freshman at West High School and has competed in math competitions since 3rd grade including Mathcounts, AMC8, AMC10 and Mission Math Competitions. Other than math, Andy enjoys playing the violin, coding, and being with friends.

Tanisha Martheswaran - Founder, Past CEO and President

Tanisha Martheswaran - Founder, Past CEO and President

Tanisha studied Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology and Global Health at Harvard University. She first became interested in competition math in the 6th grade. She represented Utah at the 2013 and 2014 National Mathcounts Competitions, and has placed at the Utah State Math Contest for the last five years. She qualified for the AIME(American Invitational Mathematics Exam) three times and was in the Distinguished Honor Roll for the AMC 8/10. She represented Utah at the National ARML competition from 2014-2018 and won second place nationwide for the Math Kangaroo Competition in 2016. She participated in other math competitions such as Math Prize for Girls at MIT, HMMT, Snow College. 

Tanisha is devoted to coaching and sharing her love for math with others. Tanisha founded the Waterford Middle School Math Club, which she coached to a Utah Mathcounts state championship. Tanisha represented Utah as the Head Coach for the 2017 National Mathcounts Competition in Orlando as well as the Assistant Coach for the 2015 National Mathcounts Competition in Boston. She was a regular coach for 4 years at the Cottonwood Heights Community Math Club(CWHMC), for which she served as President during the 2017/2018 school year. Tanisha founded Mission Math in 2016 as a way of introducing young children to the world of competition math, as well as to give back to her community. She currently works as a private math tutor for middle school students in the Boston area. Shilp Shah, Former President, Founding Member

Shilp Shah, Former President, Founding Member

Shilp Shah majored in Bioengineering at UCLA. Shilp has competed in Mathcounts and the Snow College Math Competition, where he took first place. He has participated in the AMC 8/10 and has been on the honor roll. He is currently a member of Waterford’s High School Math Club. Shilp’s other passions are tennis and debate. He is an avid tennis player, competes in both regional and national tournaments year-round, and is ranked with the top in the state. He has also qualified for the National Catholic Forensic League debate tournament for Public Forum the last two years. In his free time, he enjoys Netflix and playing with his puppy. Shilp helped found Mission Math with the hope to share his passion for competition math with those younger than him.  

Tarun Martheswaran, Former President, Founding Member

Tarun Martheswaran, Former President, Founding Member

Tarun studied Computational Biology at Standford University, combining his loves for math, computer science, and epidemiology. He is Utah’s first 3-time National Mathcounts competitor, winning first at state all three years and representing Utah in 2015, 2016, and 2017. He is an AMC 8 perfect scorer, a four-time AIME qualifier, and a three-time AMC 10 Distinguished Honor Roll qualifier. He has placed first in the Utah State Math Competition for the last four years, and has represented Utah at the National ARML Competition since 2015. He is a Math Kangaroo National Champion and a three time Snow College Math Competition Winner.  He currently coaches the Waterford Middle School Math Club, serves as the President of the Cottonwood Heights Math Club, and is a Utah STEM Action Center State Ambassador. Alongside math, Tarun enjoys scientific research and is an avid competitive tennis, racquetball, and ping pong player.

Marthes Solamuthu

Marthes Solamuthu is currently the board member on 3 companies and an active participant in community service programs mainly related to education. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he has great passion in helping youth excel in math. Prior to this, Marthes was the CEO of Smart Staffing. Preceding this, he was the COO of Integracore, the Vice President of Worldwide Operations of Clear One Communications (Public Listed Company), and the General Manager of Venture Corporations. He also held various Senior Positions in different corporations such as Ericsson, Motorola, and Western Digital. Marthes has a passion for running and is an active participant in marathons. 

Hiram Golze

Hiram Golze is a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He first became interested in competition math in middle school, qualifying for MathCounts Nationals in 2005. In high school, he attended ARML for four years, qualified for the USAMO once, and won the Utah State Math Contest twice. In college, he participated in the Putnam Exam, achieving an Honorable Mention twice, and he was a member of the 7th place team in 2012. Hiram has a passion for sharing his love of mathematics with younger students. This has included teaching at CWHMC, MathPath, the BYU Math Camp, and AwesomeMath. As an undergraduate, he led the BYU High School Math Circle, and he currently leads the Champaign-Urbana Math Circle. He is also a co-founder of the Utah Math Olympiad. Aside from math, Hiram enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and hiking.

Jordan Stephens

One of the founders of Pineapple property group and currently the President and the board member of the company. He oversees entire operations, sales, marketing, business development and people management. He is great mentor to his employees and has held various key management positions in previous companies. Jordan participates and judges in science fairs as a passion to help students grow and develop a love for math and science. He has an Advertising and Business Marketing degree from Brigham Young University.

Shriya Pingali, Past CEO and President

Shriya went to Yale University and was the President of Mission Math. She has always been passionate about mathematics and computer science. She has placed nationally for Math Kangaroo, made the AMC 8 honor roll multiple times, represented Utah ARML in Las Vegas, and successfully participated in other math competitions including Mathcounts, the Utah State Math Contest, and the AMC 10. She was the coach of the West High School Mathcounts team, and alongside completing the Kumon Math program, Shriya has been a math grader at the Kumon Center for Reading and Math for over three years. She is very passionate about youth STEM education and loved giving back to her community through Mission Math. Outside of math, Shriya enjoys programming, reading, baking, and classical music.

Zach Benton, Past CTO

Zach went to Rowland Hall. He lived in New Hampshire for five years where he established an interest in math. He participated in Mathcounts for two years, getting fifth in Utah in eighth grade. He also participated in the AMC 8 and 10, and coached the middle school Mathcounts team at his school. Zach’s main goal for high school is to educate and interest kids in Utah about math. He is interested in track and field, playing chamber music, math (of course), drinking coffee, and any cosmopolitan or metropolitan activities. Zach can’t wait to continue his career as a part of the team.

Daphne went to West High School. She has competed in numerous math competitions, having placed in the top 5 at the State Math Competition, and having been on the AMC 8 honor roll. She has also actively participated in Mathcounts, Math League, and AMC 10 competitions. Aside from math, Daphne enjoys computer programming/machine learning, debate, piano, and tennis.

Dylan Webb, Past COO

Dylan studied applied mathematics at BYU. He has been interested in competition math since participating in Mathcounts as a 6th grader. In high school he placed in the Utah State Math Contest and the Utah Math Olympiad, placed nationally in the Kangaroo Math Competition, qualified for the AIME, and competed for the Utah ARML Team in Las Vegas. He was the state runner-up for Sterling Scholar in mathematics, and currently competes for the BYU Putnam Math Team. Dylan also enjoys tennis, skiing, and reading graphic novels.

Jean went to West High School. She has competed in the AMC 10, Mandelbrot, Math League, and USMC, and participates in the school math club. Outside of math, she enjoys playing the violin, reading, and doing crosswords. 

Bryce Crouse

Bryce Crouse

Bryce Crouse went to Skyline High School. Bryce has always enjoyed strategic thinking and problem solving, becoming involved in Chess at an early age and winning the 2012 State Elementary Chess Championship. He has placed in the State Math Competition for the past three years, and has participated in the AMC 8/10 and Mathcounts competitions. Besides math, Bryce enjoys tennis and playing the violin. 

Daniel South

Daniel South

Daniel has been interested in math as long as he can remember and calculated 32 squared at age 5. He developed his interest through BYU Math Circle and the AMC 8, on which he scored 24 in his 8th grade year. He represented Utah at National Mathcounts in 2013 and 2014, and twice at ARML. In both 2015 and 2016, Daniel placed in the top three in the Utah State Math Contest and won Math Kangaroo nationally. He has qualified for the AIME three times and the prestigious USAJMO(USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad) in 2016. He helps coach Waterford’s Middle School Math Club. In addition to math, Daniel enjoys mathemagics (mathematical magic), soccer, singing, frisbee, and anything equivalent to the empty set.

Alex Cheng

Alex Cheng

Alex Cheng has placed first in the Utah State Math Contest four years in a row, and was the team captain for the state of Utah’s MATHCOUNTS team in 2015. Alex has also placed top in the nation in the Math Kangaroo competition. He has been a teacher at the CWHMC (Cottonwood Heights Math Club) for almost three years now, and is actively involved with his school’s mathematics club and Utah ARML. In addition, Alex has gotten a perfect score on the AMC 8, and has qualified for the AIME multiple times. Besides math, Alex enjoys piano, soccer, and science. 
Sanjula Pingali

Sanjula Pingali

Sanjula went to West High School. She was first exposed to competition math in fifth grade, when she took the AMC 8. Since then, she has successfully participated in a variety of math competitions. She represented Utah at the 2017 and 2018 national MATHCOUNTS competitions and has consistently placed nationally in the Math Kangaroo competition for three years. She has participated in the AMC 8 and the AMC 10, qualifying for the AIME in 2018. The State Math Contest, ARML, and Mission Math are among the other math competitions in which she has participated. She is also an assistant coach of the West High School MATHCOUNTS team and a Kumon Math program completer. Outside of math, Sanjula enjoys writing, classic literature, and opera. 

 Juyoung Kim

Juyoung Kim

Juyoung went to Vanderbilt University. Her interest in mathematics started in fourth grade, when she was introduced to a variety of math topics not taught in school and some small school competitions. She was in the Honor Roll for the 2013 and 2014 AMC 8 and scored in the top 10 in the 2014 MathCounts State Competition. In addition, she is a two-time AIME qualifier and has scored in the top 6 in the Utah State Math Contest for four consecutive years. She coached the ELP Math Club at West High and was part of the Utah ARML team. She enjoys writing, swimming, and playing the piano as well.

Josh Speckman

Josh Speckman

Josh went to USC.  Josh placed in the state math competition for five consecutive years, qualified for the AIME three times, and represented Utah at the National ARML Competition in Las Vegas twice. Josh was also a USAMTS Gold Medalist in 2017. He has never qualified for the USAJMO, eaten an entire pizza in one sitting, or figured out how to play the piano. Aside from math, he enjoys playing soccer, reading, and playing guitar. Josh enjoy sharing his passion for math with younger students, as well as giving back to his community through math.

Pooja Annigeri

Pooja Annigeri

Pooja went to the University of Utah. She joined Mission Math because she truly believes in its goals and cause. She was in the IB program at her high school. She was an avid debater and participated in several other business and service related clubs. She played tennis for her school team as well. Pooja has participated in the AMC 8 and was part of her middle school math club.

Wallace Peaslee

Wallace Peaslee

Wallace was introduced to competitive math in 6th grade, when he achieved honor roll for the AMC 8 and placed at the SLCSD Mathcounts competition. In middle school and high school, Wallace continued to participate in competitive math through AMC 8/10, the Utah State Math Competition, and ARML. Outside of math, he enjoys trying to learn the cello and playing water polo.

Winston Stucki

Winston Stucki

Winston Stucki went to the University of Utah. He was captain of the Skyline Math Team and was involved in TSA and MESA at his school. Winston has been involved in math competitions, the University of Utah Math Circle and ARML since he was in junior high. In his junior year he qualified for AIME and scored 3rd place in the Utah State Math Test. He enjoys chocolate milk and bagels for breakfast. He has two dogs; one is old and deaf, the other is young and steals his socks whenever he wants attention. 

Alicia Du, Past President

Alicia Du, Past President

Alicia went to West High. She has competed in Mathcounts, Math Olympiad, Mandelbrot, the AMC 8, and the AMC 10. She actively participates in her school math club and local math clubs. Other than math, Alicia also enjoys debate, having placed in state tournaments. She also enjoys dance, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and Chinese dance. As a member of Mission Math, she aspires to help others discover the world of competition math.

Julien Grijalva

Julien Grijalva

Julien Grijalva went to NUAMES. He has participated in Mathcounts and helped lead his team to first place in the Northern Utah competition. He successfully passed AP Calculus and AP Statistics in 7th and 8th grade, respectively. Besides participating in math competitions and science fairs, Julien enjoys machine learning, programming, algorithms, and online SecurityCTF competitions.

Danju Zoe Liu

Danju Zoe Liu

Zoe went to Hillcrest High School. She feels lucky to have been involved in competition math for many years and to have had many opportunities to explore math. She attended the 2018 National Mathcounts Competition through the Math Video Challenge and placed at State Mathcounts multiple years. She has also placed at the Utah State Math Competition and has been on the Honor Roll for AMC 8. Other competitions she has participated in include the AMC 10 and the Mandelbrot as well as representing Utah at the National ARML Competition. Outside of math, she enjoys singing, debate, and creative writing.

Malavika Singh

Malavika Singh

Mala went to West High School. Her passion for problem solving and competitive math began in fourth grade. She placed 5th at Mathcounts State in 2017 and continues to participate in other math competitions. She placed third nationally for the math kangaroo competition in 2016 and continuously placed top three in state in 2015, 2016, and 2017. She represented Utah ARML in Las Vegas in 2017 and has placed in the distinguished honor roll for the AMC 8 multiple times. She avidly participates in other competitions such as the AMC 10 and USMC. Aside from math, Mala enjoys the sciences, dancing, and playing the piano. She is a part-time caretaker of three cats and three dogs who love to steal her shoes. 

Eric Chen

Eric went to Hillcrest High School. He always had an interest in learning how things work, which is why he was drawn to the clever problem solving methods in competition math. He has participated in many math competitions including MathCounts, ARML, Utah State Math Contest, and the AMC series, where he has qualified for the AIME for the past two years. Outside of math, Eric also enjoys swimming competitively, folding origami, gaming, and practicing viola.

Kiran went to the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. Kiran had an early love of math and has participated in math competitions since elementary school. He is a three-time Mathcounts National qualifier and was 1st in the state in 2020. Kiran was on the Mathcounts Nationals team that placed 4th nationally in 2021, Utah’s highest state finish ever. Kiran has also competed in AMC 8/10, AIME, ARML and qualified for the USAJMO in the 8th grade. When he is not teaching math to his little brother, Kiran enjoys tennis, cross country, ping pong and watching Marvel movies.

Marianne Liu, Past Director of Outreach

Marianne went to West High School. She enjoys competition math and solving problems. She was a competitor in the 2019 National MathCounts competition, has previously placed multiple times at the Utah State Math competition and placed nationally in Math Kangaroo. Besides math, Marianne also enjoys debating, playing ultimate frisbee, and hiking.

Zachary Klein, Past President

Zachary Klein, Past President

Zachary went to Rowland Hall. He has competed in Mathcounts, getting 1st in Utah in 2019 and making it to the national competition. He now coaches the Rowland Hall Mathcounts team. He has also competed in the AMC8 making the distinguished honor roll. Zach has also competed in the AMC10, Mandelbrot, and ARML. Other than math Zach enjoys Tennis, Swimming, Debate, Cross Country, and playing with his dog. He is excited to join the Mission Math team.

Ronak Agarwal

Ronak Agarwal

Ronak went to West High School. He started to focus on competition math relatively late (the very beginning of eighth grade), but he has always been passionate about STEM. He placed first place at the State Math Competition and he plans to participate in many more math competitions, such as the AMC 10/12, Math Kangaroo, ARML, and Snow College Math Competition. Other than math, Ronak enjoys science fair, robotics, HOSA, debate, playing music, rock climbing, frisbee, and ste(a)m games. 

Luke Holt

Luke Holt

Luke Holt went to AMES high school. He has competed in multiple mathematics competitions, including the AIME, ARML, and the Harvard-MIT Mathematics tournament. He presides over the AMES math club and co-captains Utah’s ARML team. Outside of contests, Luke also enjoys robotics and a wide variety of video games.

Brendon Young, Past Director of Outreach

Brendon went to West High School. He developed a keen interest and enjoyment in math and problem solving at an early age. He has competed in multiple math competitions such as AMC 8/10, MOEMS, MATHCOUNTS, and the State Math Competition. The skills he developed from math also helped progress his interests in science and STEM activities. Aside from math, Brendon enjoys fencing, piano, chess, debate, and most of all drinking boba.
